The global market is living in interesting times. The main source of excitement at the moment is the US presidential election, but the first trigger for the market fluctuations expected this autumn was the Brexit vote in June.

Very few people truly believed that the Brits would actually decide to leave the European Union. I myself met with a large group of bankers representing different financial institutions during the week of the referendum, and none of them expected the ultimate outcome.
